Jenifer Wagley

Jen Wagley serves as Deputy Director of Houston in Action.  She formerly served as the founding Executive Director of Our Children Oregon, an advocacy and research organization committed to improving child well-being.  She brings two decades of experience in organizational leadership, grass-roots power building and comprehensive community development and engagement.  Jenifer is currently an apprentice with the Center for Courage and Renewal to become a credentialed facilitator for this global community.  Her work with the Center has been key to her sustainability as a leader and has provided her the opportunity of supporting other leaders across the country.  For a decade she served as the Deputy Director of Avenue Community Development Corporation--work that was truly her deep gladness. 

Jen was trained and mentored in the Industrial Areas Foundation organizing tradition and cut her organizing teeth with TMO.  Jen is driven by a passion to create a more just, healthy, loving society where every person/being has what they need to thrive.  She is mom to three boys and loves to hike, coach basketball and build friendships.  Jenifer holds two master's degrees from Baylor University/Truett Seminary.
