Houston in Action and partners across our network are working to increase equitable access to vaccination against Covid-19. Our work begins with listening. Below, find relevant studies and research relevant for public health and medical professionals, government officials, community health workers and other working to protect the health of greater Houston-area communities.

 

As part of Houston in Action partnership with Mathematica through the Equity-First Vaccination Initiative, with the support of Texas Tool Belt, we conduct a monthly Pulse survey by going door-to-door in certain areas that represent the communities of focus of our Safer Together campaign.

From our partner organization: In order to better understand the core attitudinal determinants of vaccine hesitancy among this crucial population, Young Invincibles convened a series of listening sessions between April and June of 2021.

Listening session participants shared a variety of motivators, hesitations, hurdles and other concerns that were present in their experience accessing and receiving the Covid-19 vaccination. Conversations also included discussion around news sources and media literacy, rumors, and misinformation.
