The Houston in Action Narrative Working group builds proactive and responsive systems that reframe toxic or counterproductive narratives to the work of justice and joy for historically excluded communities. The group is operationalizing processes for media engagement that promote deep and meaningful relationships with reporters, editors, and news desks, raise the profile of the issues affecting our community and put our people at the frontline of culture. The work also includes the work of artists, the exploration of alternative means of current mass media outlets, redistributing power in public narrative-shaping media ecosystems.
