Sacha Lazarre
Senior Director of People & Culture
Sacha Lazarre is a strategic and creative thinker with over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience designing and leading programs that foster community and organizational transformation.
As Houston in Action's Senior Director of People and Culture, she drives the strategy and implementation of programs and policies designed to enhance employee engagement and wellbeing.
Sacha holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Houston and a certificate in NonProfit Leadership from the University of Michigan.
Prior to joining the HIA team, Sacha led People and Culture at OpenStax, a Rice University initiative dedicated to improving access and equity in education. Her work experience encompasses spearheading program initiatives in youth services and citizenship and immigration for BakerRipley, the largest, most long-standing, and highly recognized nonprofit organizations in the country. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for supporting individuals and organizations in reaching their full potential. She developed a deep interest in human experiences and the factors that shape them, such as culture and opportunity.
As a first-generation Haitian-American who has traveled and lived in various countries, Sacha believes in cultivating an inclusive and welcoming environment to help people thrive in their communities and in the workplace. She enjoys her time out of work by creating art, dining out, and traveling with her daughter (and on occasion, with Bruce the dog).
She is thrilled about the opportunity to work alongside the creative and passionate team of Houston in Action.
